Sie gewann den besten Jugendroman bei den Sir Julius Vogel Awards 2021 für These Violent Delights. Die Fortsetzung Our Violent Ends wurde im November 2021 veröffentlicht. Im November 2021 kündigte Gong ihre erste Fantasy-Trilogie für Erwachsene an, inspiriert von Shakespeares Antony and Cleopatra und Chinas Kowloon Walled City.
Das erste Buch der Trilogie, Immortal Longings, erscheint im Sommer 2023.
