Sumajit Mukherjee ist Professor in der Abteilung für Geowissenschaften am Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, Indien. Dr. Mukherjee ist Strukturgeologe und Tektoniker und führt Feldarbeiten, mikrostrukturelle Studien, analoge und analytische Modellierung durch, hauptsächlich zu duktiler Scherkinetik und Impakttektonik. Seine Forschungs- und Redaktionserfahrung erstreckt sich über 15 Jahre und war bis heute Co-Autor und (Co-Autor) von 14 Büchern und thematischen Bänden. Derzeit ist er Associate Editor des International Journal of Geosciences (Springer), Books Consultant (Springer) und Herausgeber der Reihe Advances in Structural and Tectonic Geology (Elsevier).
