Fahui Wang ist Cyril & Tutta Vetter Alumni Professor und ehemaliger Lehrstuhlinhaber (2014-2020) am Lehrstuhl für Geographie und Anthropologie der Louisiana State University. Er hat den B.S. in Geographie von der Peking University, China (1988) und M.A. in Wirtschaftswissenschaften (1993) und PhD in Stadt- und Regionalplanung (1995) von der Ohio State University. Er erhielt den LSU Rainmaker Award für herausragende Forschung, Wissenschaft und kreative Tätigkeit (2015) und den LSU Distinguished Faculty Award (2018). Seine Forschungsinteressen umfassen GIS-Anwendungen in der Humangeographie (Stadt-, Wirtschafts-, Verkehrswesen), Stadt- und Regionalplanung sowie der öffentlichen Politik (Kriminalität und Gesundheit). Laut Scopus mit Datenstopp vom 6. Mai 2020 gehört er zu den 1% der am häufigsten zitierten Forscher in Geographie (genauer, 159. von 27.592) der Welt.
