Murray Seymour Klamkin war ein amerikanischer Mathematiker, der als produktiver Moderator und Herausgeber von beruflich schwierigen mathematischen Problemen bekannt war. Klamkin wurde am 5. März 1921 in Brooklyn, New York, geboren. 1942 erwarb er einen Bachelor-Abschluss der Cooper Union und nach vier Jahren Dienst in der US-Armee 1947 einen Master-Abschluss am Brooklyn Polytechnic, wo er von 1948 bis 1957 lehrte. Anschließend arbeitete Klamkin bei AVCO, lehrte an der State University of New York in Buffalo (1962-1964) und arbeitete als leitender Wissenschaftler bei der Ford Motor Company (1965-1976). Während dieser Zeit war er auch Gastprofessor an der University of Minnesota. Nachdem er Ford verlassen hatte, wurde er Professor an der University of Waterloo. Von 1976 bis 1981 war Klamkin Vorsitzender des Department of Mathematics der University of Alberta. Nach 1981 wurde er emeritierter Professor in Alberta. Klamkin starb am 6. August 2004
