Eric Dorchmid is a cinematographer, producer, director, author, and professor of military history. Previously he worked as a war correspondent for the BBC and CBS. He worked as a press correspondent for the BBC from 1959 to 1971. Dorchmid conducted many press interviews with some international figures such as John Kennedy, Salvador Allende, David Ben-Gurion and Saddam Hussein. Dorchmid also worked as a cinematographer while covering global conflicts. In 1958, the only film about Fidel Castro was shot directly alongside the revolutionaries on the Sierra Maestra. Dorchmid is best known for his book The Role of Chance and Stupidity in Changing the Course of History: The Decisive Factor.
