Jamal Naji was born in Aqabat Jabr - Jericho in 1954, where he lived his early childhood, then moved to Amman after the setback of June 1967, and he has lived and received his education there since then, where he obtained a diploma in plastic arts, and worked in various fields, the most important of which is teaching in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Saudi Arabia 1975 - 1977, banking work 1978 - 1995, director of the Center for Political and Economic Studies 1995 - 2004, and a full-time writer from 2004 until now. Jamal Naji’s novels and stories were distinguished by diversity and their events were not confined to repeated places or specific times. In his first novel (The Road to Balharith) it deals with the desert environment in the Saudi village during the eighteenth century, while the events of his second novel (Time) take place in the Palestinian camp during the fifties And his third novel (Remnants of the Last Cyclones) talks about the Roma and their lives, their solutions, their travels and their coexistence with local communities, while his fourth novel (Life is Death) is an introduction to the topic of globalization through the economy, which was completed in his fifth novel (Night of the Feathers). ) whose events are taking place in the financial and economic circles from the perspective of criticizing the negative aspects of globalization. With regard to Jamal Naji’s stories, critics saw in them a radical difference from his narrative style, whether in terms of form, method of treatment, or content, and they were classified as a kind of stories of revelations in the depths of the human soul in a new style that relies on paradox and unexpected endings. Three collections of stories have been published by him: (A man without a mind / A man without details / What Happened on Thursday).
