Pioneer of Semitic and Coptic studies (1907-1975) and one of the most important pioneers of Semitic and Coptic studies in Egypt. He was born on July 7, 1907 in the Faggala district of Cairo, into a well-off family. However, he was subjected to a difficult experience when his father died in 1914 at the age of seven; Then his mother joined him in 1920 when he was thirteen years old. His aunt raised him and took care of him.
He joined the Maronite School in the primary stage, then Al Tawfiqia School in the secondary stage. After obtaining his baccalaureate degree, he joined the Faculty of Arts, Department of Arabic and Oriental Languages, Fouad I University (currently Cairo) in 1926 and graduated in 1930.
