Saud Al-Sanousi (born in 1981) is a Kuwaiti writer and novelist, member of the Writers Association in Kuwait and the Kuwaiti Journalists Association. In 2013, he won the International Prize for Arabic Fiction for his novel The Bamboo Stalk. It is a novel that deals with the issue of foreign labor in the Gulf countries. It was selected from among 133 novels submitted for the award. He writes for the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas. He previously published the story "The Bonsai and the Old Man", which won first place in the short story competition conducted by the Kuwaiti Al-Arabi magazine in cooperation with BBC Arabic. He has previously published the novel "Prisoner of Mirrors", which won the fourth edition of the Laila Al-Othman Prize for Youth Creativity in Story and Novel.
