Inspection pdf by Josh Malerman
Boys and girls are being raised in special schools. One group is unaware of the other's existence—until now. High in a tower deep in a forest and isolated from the rest of the world, we have J. He is one of twenty-six boys at a boarding school that aims to train prodigies in the arts, sciences and athletics.
Until today, J has only had contact with the other people who live there: his classmates are his only family and everyone believes they are children of the school's founder. Academic life is all they know — and all they are allowed to know. But J suspects there's something else out there, besides the Tower he lives in, something they don't want him to see. It is then that he begins to question. What is the real purpose of that place? Why can't students leave? And what secrets is the father hiding from them? Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, at a boarding school much like J's, a young woman named K has been asking herself the same questions.
As they delve into the mysteries behind their strange schools, perhaps the two of them will discover something...they shouldn't.
