Tomás de Aquino (monje dominicano) (1225 - 1274) fue un sacerdote católico italiano y santo de la Orden Dominicana, y un filósofo y teólogo influyente dentro de la tradición escolástica. Uno de los treinta y tres maestros de la Iglesia, conocido como el mundo angélico (Doctor Angelicus) y el mundo circundante (Doctor Universalis). Por lo general, se lo conoce como Tomás, y Tomás de Aquino lo atribuye a su residencia en Tomás de Aquino. Fue una de las figuras influyentes en la teología natural y es el padre de la escuela tomista de filosofía y teología. Su influencia es amplia en la filosofía occidental, y muchas de las ideas de la filosofía occidental moderna son una revolución contra sus ideas o un acuerdo con ellas, especialmente en materia de ética, derecho natural y teoría política. Tomás de Aquino es considerado el maestro ideal para quienes estudian para ser sacerdotes en la Iglesia Católica. Es conocido por su operación como el epítome de la divinidad, la creación y el Creador.
