Paulo Davim recibió su Ph.D. Licenciado en Ingeniería Mecánica en 1997, M.Sc. Licenciatura en Ingeniería Mecánica (materiales y procesos de fabricación) en 1991, Licenciatura en Ingeniería Mecánica (5 años) en 1986, por la Universidad de Oporto (FEUP), Título Agregado (Habilitación Completa) por la Universidad de Coimbra en 2005 y el D. Carolina del Sur. (Doctorado Superior) de la Universidad Metropolitana de Londres en 2013. Es Ingeniero Superior Colegiado por la Institución Portuguesa de Ingenieros con un MBA y títulos de Especialista en Ingeniería y Gestión Industrial, así como en Metrología. También es Eur Ing por FEANI-Bruselas y Fellow (FIET) del IET-Londres. Actualmente, es Profesor del Departamento de Ingeniería Mecánica de la Universidad de Aveiro, Portugal. También es distinguido como profesor honorario en varias universidades/colegios. Tiene más de 30 años de experiencia docente e investigadora en Manufactura, Materiales, Ingeniería Mecánica e Industrial, con especial énfasis en Mecanizado y Tribología. También tiene interés en administración, educación en ingeniería y educación superior para la sustentabilidad.
