Sumajit Mukherjee es profesor en el Departamento de Geociencias del Instituto Indio de Tecnología en Bombay, India. Recibió su Ph.D. Certificado en Geología y M. en Geología Aplicada de IIT Roorkee en 2007 y 2002 respectivamente. Recibió el premio Hutchison Young Scientist Award de IUGS en 2004.
