Josh Malerman est un romancier, nouvelliste, producteur de films américain et l'un des deux auteurs-compositeurs-interprètes du groupe de rock The High Strung. Il est surtout connu pour avoir écrit son roman post-apocalyptique, Bird Box, qui a inspiré le film Netflix Bird Box. En 2020, il fonde la société de production Spin a Black Yarn avec le manager Ryan Lewis ; leur premier film, We Need to Do Something, a été tourné en secret pendant la pandémie de COVID-19.
