Andrea Nicole Livingstone (née le 10 juillet 1985), connue sous le nom de Nic Stone, est une auteure américaine de fiction pour jeunes adultes et de fiction de niveau intermédiaire, surtout connue pour son premier roman Dear Martin et ses débuts au niveau intermédiaire, Clean Getaway. Ses romans ont été traduits en six langues.
Stone est né et a grandi dans une banlieue d'Atlanta, en Géorgie.
Elle est diplômée en psychologie du Spelman College. Elle est afro-américaine et ouvertement bisexuelle.
Après l'université, elle a travaillé dans le mentorat pour adolescents et a déménagé en Israël pendant quelques années.
Lors d'un voyage en Israël en 2008, Stone a découvert qu'elle voulait devenir écrivain lorsqu'elle a rencontré une famille avec une histoire qui la fascinait.
Stone a écrit son premier roman pour jeunes adultes en 2017, inspiré de la série Divergent de la romancière américaine pour jeunes adultes Veronica Roth, car il s'agissait de la première série mettant en vedette des personnages noirs qu'elle a rencontrés et qui vit jusqu'à la fin.
Ce même livre lui a valu plus tard un agent littéraire.
