Sc. (Doctorat supérieur) de la London Metropolitan University en 2013. Il est ingénieur senior agréé par l'Institution portugaise des ingénieurs avec un MBA et des titres de spécialiste en ingénierie et gestion industrielle ainsi qu'en métrologie. Il est également Eur Ing par la FEANI-Bruxelles et Fellow (FIET) de l'IET-Londres. Actuellement, il est professeur au Département de génie mécanique de l'Université d'Aveiro, au Portugal. Il est également distingué comme professeur honoraire dans plusieurs universités/collèges.
