Frank Close est né en 1945 après JC à Peterborough, il a reçu l'OBE, et il est professeur de physique à l'Université d'Oxford et membre de l'Exeter College. Il est l'auteur de plusieurs livres à succès tels que : The Lucifer Legacy, Particle Physics: A Very Short Introduction, The New Cosmic Onion, The Particle Explosion, The End, Extremely Thorny, et "The Particle Saga" et "Antimatter".
Il a réalisé plusieurs réalisations, dont :
