Economic Development in the Third World pdf

Michael Paul Todaro (né le 14 mai 1942) est un économiste américain et un pionnier dans le domaine de l'économie du développement. Todaro a obtenu un doctorat en économie de l'Université de Yale en 1968 pour une thèse intitulée The Urban Employment Problem in Less Developed Countries – An Analysis of Demand and Supply. Todaro a été professeur d'économie à l'Université de New York pendant dix-huit ans et associé principal au Population Council pendant trente ans. Il a vécu et enseigné en Afrique pendant six ans. Il apparaît dans Who's Who in Economics and Economists of the Twentieth Century. Il est également l'auteur de huit livres et de plus d'une cinquantaine d'articles professionnels. Dans une édition spéciale du centenaire de février 2011, l'American Economic Review a sélectionné l'article de Todaro "Migration, Unemployment and Development: A 2-Sector Analysis" (avec John Harris) comme l'un des vingt articles les plus importants publiés par cette revue au cours des cent premiers années de son existence. Il est le co-auteur du manuel largement utilisé, Economic Development, 12th Edition, publié en 2014.
