Murray Seymour Klamkin était un mathématicien américain, connu comme un présentateur prolifique et un éditeur de problèmes mathématiques professionnellement difficiles. Klamkin est né le 5 mars 1921 à Brooklyn, New York. Il a obtenu un baccalauréat de la Cooper Union en 1942, et après quatre ans de service dans l'armée américaine, il a obtenu une maîtrise de Brooklyn Polytechnic en 1947, où il a enseigné de 1948 à 1957. Par la suite, Klamkin a travaillé à AVCO, a enseigné à l'Université d'État de New York à Buffalo (1962-1964) et a travaillé comme chercheur principal à Ford Motor Company (1965-1976). Au cours de cette période, il a également été professeur invité à l'Université du Minnesota. Après avoir quitté Ford, il est devenu professeur à l'Université de Waterloo. De 1976 à 1981, Klamkin a été président du département de mathématiques de l'Université de l'Alberta. Après 1981, il est devenu professeur émérite en Alberta. Klamkin est décédé le 6 août 2004
