Le professeur Andrew Shaw Goudie (né en 1945) est un géographe de l'Université d'Oxford spécialisé dans la géomorphologie du désert, les tempêtes de poussière, les intempéries et les changements climatiques sous les tropiques. Il combine la recherche et un peu d'enseignement avec des rôles administratifs. Goudie est né à Cheltenham le 21 août 1945. Il a fait ses études à la Dean Close School et au Trinity Hall de Cambridge (BA première classe avec distinction 1967, MA, PhD 1972). En 2002, il a obtenu le diplôme de docteur en sciences de l'Université d'Oxford. Il travaille à l'Université d'Oxford depuis 1970. En 1976, il a été nommé Fellow du Hertford College. Il a été nommé professeur de géographie en 1984 et a dirigé l'École de géographie de 1984 à 1994. De 1995 à 1997, il a été président du programme de développement d'Oxford et pro-vice-chancelier de l'université. Il est devenu maître du St Cross College en 2003 et a quitté le poste en 2011. En 1970, il a été élu membre de l'Institute of British Geographers (dont il a ensuite été membre du conseil) et membre de la Royal Geographical Society. Il a été secrétaire honoraire de la Royal Geographical Society de 1980 à 1988 et a été vice-président de la société. En 1991, la Société lui a décerné sa médaille des fondateurs.
