Chetan Bhagat est né le 22 avril 1974, c'est un auteur indien. Il a été inclus dans la liste des 100 personnes les plus influentes au monde du magazine Time en 2010. Bhagat est diplômé en génie mécanique de l'IIT Delhi et a obtenu un PGP à l'IIM Ahmedabad. Il a commencé sa carrière en tant que banquier d'investissement, mais l'a quittée après quelques années pour se consacrer à l'écriture. Il a écrit dix romans et trois livres de non-fiction. Son premier roman (Five Point Someone) a été publié en 2004. Ses romans ont été classés parmi les best-sellers. Bhagat a également écrit les scripts de films de Bollywood comme Kick en 2014 et adapté ses histoires pour les films Kai Po Che ! Bhagat a remporté le Filmfare Award du meilleur scénario pour Kai Po Che ! aux 59e Filmfare Awards en 2014. Son dernier roman 400 jours, basé sur un enfant disparu et un amour interdit, est sorti le 8 octobre 2021.
