Robert P. George è professore di giurisprudenza McCormick e direttore del programma James Madison in American Ideals and Institutions. È stato presidente della Commissione degli Stati Uniti per la libertà religiosa internazionale (USCIRF), e prima ancora del President's Council on Bioethics e come nominato presidenziale della Commissione dei diritti civili degli Stati Uniti. Ha anche servito come Stati Uniti membro della Commissione mondiale dell'UNESCO sull'etica della conoscenza scientifica e della tecnologia (COMEST). È un ex Judicial Fellow presso la Corte Suprema degli Stati Uniti, dove ha ricevuto il Justice Tom C. Clark Award. Laureato allo Swarthmore College, ha conseguito il J.D. e MTS diplomi dell'Università di Harvard e i diplomi di D.Phil., BCL, D.C.L. e D.Litt. dell'Università di Oxford. È stato visiting professor presso la Harvard Law School ed è membro del Council on Foreign Relations.
