Scrittrice e scrittrice egiziana, nata al Cairo nel 1949. Ha conseguito una laurea in economia aziendale presso l'Università di Ain Shams nel 1972 e una laurea in teatro presso l'Istituto superiore di scienze drammatiche nel 1976. Sono stati pubblicati molti racconti, come: "Zinat al funerale del presidente." 1986, Maqam di Attia nel 1986, On the Gradually Stolen Soul nel 1989, Farming Dough nel 1992, Rabbits nel 1994 e Contradictory Rhythms nel 1996. Ha anche pubblicato molti romanzi come The Golden Cart Non ascendere al cielo” nel 1991, “Description of the Nightingale” nel 1993, “Night and Day” nel 1997 e il romanzo “Al-Bashmouri” nel 2000. Le sue numerose opere sono state tradotte in inglese, tedesco, olandese e spagnolo, ei suoi romanzi "Nun Al-Shanouna" e "Night and Day" sono stati trasformati in due film per la televisione, e il suo romanzo "The Cinematic Vehicle" è stato trasformato in un film.
