Aldous Leonard Huxley (26 luglio 1894-22 novembre 1963) è stato uno scrittore e filosofo inglese.
Ha scritto quasi 50 libri, sia romanzi che saggi, oltre a saggi, narrazioni e poesie di ampio respiro.
Nato nell'importante famiglia Huxley, si è laureato in letteratura inglese al Balliol College di Oxford. All'inizio della sua carriera, ha pubblicato racconti e poesie e ha curato la rivista letteraria Oxford Poetry, prima di pubblicare scritti di viaggio, satira e sceneggiature. Trascorse l'ultima parte della sua vita negli Stati Uniti, vivendo a Los Angeles dal 1937 fino alla sua morte.
Alla fine della sua vita, Huxley era ampiamente riconosciuto come uno dei più importanti intellettuali del suo tempo.
È stato nominato nove volte per il Premio Nobel per la letteratura ed è stato eletto Companion of Literature dalla Royal Society of Literature nel 1962.
Huxley era un pacifista.
