Ram Prasad è Assistant Professor, Amity Institute of Microbial Technology, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh. Ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca (Microbiologia) presso la Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, per la quale ha svolto il lavoro sperimentale presso la School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Ha conseguito il Master in Scienze della Vita presso la School of Life Sciences, JNU, Nuova Delhi e si è qualificato CSIR-NET, GATE e ASRB-NET. Ha al suo attivo settantacinque pubblicazioni, tra cui articoli di ricerca e capitoli di libri a livello internazionale e nazionale. Ha anche cinque brevetti rilasciati o pendenti ed è autore/editore di tre libri. Il dottor Prasad ha dodici anni di ricerca e nove anni di esperienza nell'insegnamento. Ha ricevuto il premio Young Scientist e la medaglia d'oro del Prof JS Datta Munshi. Ha anche ricevuto una borsa di studio FSAB dalla Society for Applied Biotechnology nel campo della biotecnologia microbica. This book covers microbial biotechnology in sustainable agriculture, aiming to improve crop productivity under stress conditions. It includes sections on genes encoding avirulence factors of bacteria and fungi, viral coat proteins of plant viruses, chitinase from fungi, virulence factors from nematodes and mycoplasma, insecticidal toxins from Bacillus thuringiensis, and herbicide tolerance enzymes from bacteria.
