Murray Seymour Klamkin era un matematico americano, noto come un prolifico presentatore ed editore di problemi matematici professionalmente difficili. Klamkin è nato il 5 marzo 1921 a Brooklyn, New York. Ha conseguito una laurea presso la Cooper Union nel 1942 e, dopo quattro anni di servizio nell'esercito degli Stati Uniti, ha conseguito un master presso il Brooklyn Polytechnic nel 1947, dove ha insegnato dal 1948 al 1957. Successivamente, Klamkin ha lavorato presso l'AVCO, ha insegnato alla State University di New York a Buffalo (1962-1964) e ha lavorato come ricercatore principale presso la Ford Motor Company (1965-1976). Durante questo periodo, è stato anche visiting professor presso l'Università del Minnesota. Dopo aver lasciato Ford, divenne professore all'Università di Waterloo. Dal 1976 al 1981 Klamkin è stato presidente del Dipartimento di Matematica presso l'Università di Alberta. Dopo il 1981 è diventato Professore Emerito in Alberta. Klamkin è morto il 6 agosto 2004
