Chetan Bhagat è nato il 22 aprile 1974, è uno scrittore indiano. Nel 2010 è stato inserito dalla rivista Time nell'elenco delle 100 persone più influenti al mondo. Bhagat si è laureato in ingegneria meccanica all'IIT Delhi e ha completato un PGP all'IIM Ahmedabad. Il suo primo romanzo (Five Point Someone) è stato pubblicato nel 2004. I suoi romanzi sono stati elencati come bestseller. Bhagat ha anche scritto le sceneggiature per film di Bollywood come Kick nel 2014 e adattato le sue storie per i film Kai Po Che! Bhagat ha vinto il Filmfare Award per la migliore sceneggiatura per Kai Po Che! al 59° Filmfare Awards nel 2014.
